A three-car collision occured at the intersection of Park Drive and Beacon Street in Boston University’s South Campus Wednesday at 2:20 p.m. The Boston Police Department, Boston Fire Department and an EMS ambulance arrived on the scene to find a white Mini Cooper in the inbound lane of Beacon Street, a gray Honda Accord in the middle of the island on Park Drive and a gray Mazda Tribute next to it, BPD spokesman David Estrada said. A witness told police the white Mini Cooper turned left onto Park Drive from Beacon Street and attempted to change lanes when the collision occurred, but officers are unsure whether this caused the accident, Estrada said.’ The driver of the gray Mazda Tribute sustained serious injuries and was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, and the driver of the Mini Cooper had ‘non-life threatening injuries,’ and was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital. The driver of the gray Honda Accord had minor injuries, but refused medical attention, Estrada said. The victims were all transported from the scene at 3 p.m. The area where the crash occured, which was taped off as part of ‘standard procedure,’ was not cleared until 7:30 p.m., Estrada said. There were no passengers in the vehicles at the time of collision, nor were any pedestrians involved, Estrada said. The victims’ names were not released due to BPD policy.
