I just wanted to comment briefly on the recent article discussing Gary Gulman’s performance at BU Central. Overall, I thought the article nicely depicted the feel of the evening, but there were just a few glaring omissions/additions.
First, the glaring omission: there was no mention of Tony Moschetto, the very funny third comedian on the show, actually the show’s official opening act. (Myq Kaplan, mentioned in the article as the opener, was actually the evening’s host; I am fairly certain of this because I am he.) Tony did a great job as well, and I feel deserved at least a mention, for the annals of Daily Free Press history.
Second, the glaring addition: the letter “L.” Gary Gulman’s name was spelled incorrectly throughout the article, as Gary Gullman. To my knowledge, Gary was never bitten by a radioactive sea-bird; he is not Gull-man. (Granted, heroes often have secret identities, but still…) It’s striking that my weird name could be spelled correctly without even being interviewed, but Gary’s was not, despite being the main attraction and focus of the article.
My point is, I thank the author and editors of the Daily Free Press for correctly representing my name. Also, thanks for writing a mostly great article about an excellent event.
