Behind the curtain at the Boston Ballet

Playful, passionate and elegant — Boston Ballet’s Celebration of Dance, a repertoire of three ballets represent these three moods. The program opens with “Interplay,” a vivacious piece choreographed by Jerome Robbins. The dramatic “Four Last Songs” features a live soprano to accompany the Strauss score. Balanchine’s “Theme and Variations” showcases 26 dancers moving to the music of Tchaikovsky.

The dancers and orchestra held their final dress rehearsal last Wednesday at the Wang Theatre. Celebration of Dance is running from March 1-11 with tickets available for $23-73. Come an hour before performance for $12.50 student rush tickets. It promises to be a dynamic celebration.
