Another Season of Enchantment

It is certainly great to see the Boston University men’s basketball team excel in the court. I wholeheartly applaud your Sports Editor, Mr. Erik Malinowski, for recognizing this team, and their resilient efforts against all adversity. This platoon of student-athletes really make me proud, and I cannot wait for next year: B.U. brings all their starters back, a healthy Matt Turner (arguably the best player in the team), a stronger Matt Czaplinski (tabbed as the best shot blocker in the state of Connecticut his senior year), and a superb recruiting class. Whatever happens next Friday against those thugs from Cincinnati, B.U. can only learn from the experience. Believe me, they are going to be very, very good next year. Possibly better than that 1996-97 B.U. team that won a record 25 games with Tunji Awojobi, the first player in New England to record 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. I am a little older than your undergraduate readership, and I have seen B.U. hoop teams since the days of Coach Rick Pitino. This team may not have an All-America scorer and rebounder like Awojobi, but collectively they play much better defense. This team is one big man short of cracking the Top 50. You better believe!
