BU Students Speak Out On Guest Policy

Quotes from Project: University Perspectives Guest Visitation Policy report.

“I would love to live at the Student Village next year, except that I don’t want to be told when I can have friends over. The Guest Policy imposes more rules than my parents did when I was in high school.”

– Jessica, COM, South Campus resident

“Due to the oppressive nature of BU’s Guest Policy, I opted to take a forced triple on Bay State, rather than a spacious double in Warren Towers or the Student Village. In talking to prospective students, I’ve found that many fail to matriculate here due to this policy.”

– Michelle, CAS, Bay State Road resident

“The first day I came to Loretto Hall I was with my friend, who was planning to stay with me before he left on a bus the next morning. Instead, I had to wander around Boston until 6 a.m. with my friend because of the ‘no guests for the first two weeks’ policy.”

– Cuinn, CAS, Loretto Hall resident
