BU men’s club soccer takes down Pine Manor College, 4-0

The BU men’s club soccer team hosted Division III foe Pine Manor College for a match Wednesday night at Nickerson Field. The Terriers jumped out to a 3-0 lead by the end of the first half, as H-Soba Vincent registered two goals to give the Terriers a comfortable cushion going into the final 45 minutes of play. The Terriers would add one more goal in the second half, and the BU backline helped preserve the shutout victory.

Saturday, Nov. 8

BU equestrian club impresses at Northeastern competition

The BU equestrian club had an impressive showing at its latest show – hosted by Northeastern University. The Terriers won the high point team, while also earning first-place finishes by senior Carly Corbacho (Open Fences), junior Sarah Broadbent (Open Flat), senior Emily King (Intermediate Fences) and junior Jackie Leogrande (Walk Trot).

BU club squash battles opponents in Maryland

The BU club squash team opened up its set of weekend games in Annapolis, Maryland, with a match against Johns Hopkins University. After losing the opening tilt, the Terriers won the next two games thanks to strong performances from freshmen Joel Lavoie and Griffin Bonner. Rounding out the first day of play, the Terriers defeated the University of Minnesota, 7-2, before dropping all of their matches against the United States Naval Academy “A” team. BU opened Sunday’s action with a 6-3 win over the University of Richmond before dropping a 5-4 contest with the Navy “B” team.

BU club ice hockey dominates New England College, 12-4

The BU club ice hockey team extended its win streak to three games with a 12-4 drubbing of New England College Saturday night. The Terriers dominated in the first period, registering an impressive seven goals. Sophomore forward Riley Marotta put together a productive shift, scoring three goals and an assist in just 61 seconds of ice time. Junior forward Taylor Parkinson also recorded a hat trick on the night, while his classmate, forward Matt Ruiz, chipped in two goals of his own.

BU women’s club volleyball plays in University of Delaware tournament

The BU women’s club volleyball team traveled down to the University of Delaware to take part in its second league tournament of the year. The Terriers opened play by splitting games against Villanova University, the Temple University “A” team and West Chester University of Pennsylvania before capturing both matches against Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. BU would face off against the Temple “B” team in the quarterfinals, besting the Owls en route to an appearance in the semifinals against the Delaware “A” team, who bested the Terriers in both sets.

BU women’s club rugby concludes fall season with match against BC

The BU women’s club rugby team ended its fall season in fifth place after earning a 39-27 win over Boston College. Both squads registered tries in the first half, but the Terriers ultimately pulled away in the second thanks to tries from Abigael Yotts (3), Emma Perez (2), Paige Stathopoulos and Casandra Parkhurst.

Sunday, Nov. 9

BU club ice hockey settles for draw with Roger Williams University

The BU club ice hockey team battled Roger Williams University to a 5-5 draw Sunday afternoon. Despite outshooting RWU by a 50-33 margin and entering the third period up 5-3, the Terriers were unable to come away with the win. Freshman forward Nick Lupo had an impressive showing, recording two goals – including one shorthanded tally.
