Campus Crime Logs: Jan. 13 to Jan. 19

The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department from Jan. 13 to Jan. 19.

Person attempts to steal, damages bike

A male student reported Jan. 13 that at 2:46 p.m. that his bike was damaged while it was secured to a bike rack at 46 Mountfort St. The assailant appeared to be attempting to steal the bike, but was unable to do so, according to BUPD. A follow-up investigation to determine who damaged and attempted to steal the bike has not been conducted.

Jacket worth $250 stolen from Fitness and Recreation Center

A 26-year-old male reported on Jan. 13 at 8 p.m. that his jacket was stolen from the basement-level locker room at 915 Commonwealth Ave., the Fitness and Recreation Center. The jacket, valued at $250, was likely stolen between 6:10 and 7:27 p.m. BUPD will conduct a follow-up investigation.

Package stolen from apartment common area

A 25-year-old female reported Jan. 15 that a package containing a pair of boots was taken from the common area of her apartment complex at 14 Buswell St. near South Campus. The theft occurred on either Jan. 8 or Jan. 9. Similar thefts involving stolen packages from common areas have been a reoccurring problem in Brookline, according to BUPD.

Teenager jumps onto hockey rink during game

A 16-year-old male, not affiliated with BU, jumped over the plexiglass wall onto the ice rink during the BU hockey game against Boston College Friday at Agganis Arena. He chased after the hockey puck then left the ice. BUPD later removed him from the facility, booked him for trespassing and prohibited him from returning the arena.

Roommates fight, no injuries reported

Two students reported engaging in a physical altercation Saturday at 3 a.m. at Student Village II on 33 Harry Agganis Way. The fight occurred between the two roommates in their dormitory. BUPD is investigating the incident. No injuries were reported.

Unknown person rummages, opens mail

A student living off campus reported an unknown person rummaging through her mail and packages at 860 Beacon St. between 4 and 8:46 p.m. on Saturday. The victim’s mail was opened and appeared tampered with, but it is unclear whether anything had been stolen. BUPD does not know whether this incident is linked to an incident that occurred Jan. 12 involving the possession of marijuana at the same address.
