Campus Crime Logs: Aug. 31-Sept. 4

The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department crime logs from Aug. 31 to Sept. 4.

New student missing and found at Warren Towers

The father of an incoming Boston University student asked officers to check the well-being of his daughter, who did not show up when they agreed to meet at his hotel, on Aug. 31 at 6:11 a.m. Officers found her safe at a party in her room at 700 Commonwealth Ave.

Suspect arrested at bike rack at 144 Bay State Rd.

An officer arrested a male suspect on Sunday after receiving a call at 12:41 a.m. The caller told the police that there was a group of males potentially smoking marijuana at 166 Bay State Rd. The responding officer saw five males with tools at a bike rack behind 140 Bay State Rd. but four fled the scene.

Armed chase near Marsh Chapel

An officer responded to a call from a man who said two men were chasing him with a gun behind 735 Commonwealth Ave. on Sunday at 6:32 a.m. The officer arrived at the scene and arrested one suspect, but the other man escaped.

Gas leak false alarm in South Campus

The Boston Fire Department arrived at 90 Saint Marys St. on Monday at after receiving a report at 6:51 p.m. that there might have been a natural gas leak. BFD concluded that there was no leak and that the smell of gas was most likely coming from burnt food.
