Campus crime logs: April 3–6

The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department crime logs between April 3–6.

Tagging at 52 Buswell St

At 6:28 p.m. on April 3, fresh graffiti was found to have defaced property behind 52 Buswell St.

Attempted larceny of bicycle

Evidence of an attempted bicycle theft was reported at 4:42 p.m on April 4 at the College of Fine Arts. BU Facilities Management and Planning was contacted, and then cancelled on, in assisting removal of the bike from the rack.

Burnt food caused smoky odor

A male caller reported smelling a strong odor of smoke at 94 Bay State Rd. at 12:52 a.m. on Friday. The building’s resident assistant had not returned his call. A fire was not visible or believed to exist, but he was concerned by the smell. The officer on the scene found burnt food in apartment No. 101, which was verified by the residents.

Hypodermic needle found

BUPD was called to remove a hypodermic needle and properly dispose of it at a medical center at 9:57 a.m on Saturday at 43 Hawes St.
