Campus crime logs: November 15-20

The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department crime logs between Nov. 15-20.

 

Missing person

An RA contacted BUPD 10 a.m. Friday after receiving notice that a resident’s parents had not heard from them in four days. The RA checked the student’s room and the student was not there.

 

Suspicious package at Claflin Hall

A caller reported a suspicious package, possibly containing a white powdery substance, stuffed behind a fire extinguisher outside Claflin Hall around 9:30 a.m. Friday. BUPD arrived to find that the substance was brown and wrapped in plastic bags.

 

Suspicious vehicle on Bay State Road

A caller reported that she was being followed by a vehicle on Bay State Road at 11 p.m. Friday. The caller waited in a hallway until BUPD arrived. The officer reported that no vehicles in the area matched the description.

 

Dispute at BUPD

Three people came into BUPD at 2:45 am Friday in a dispute over a lost phone in an Uber. The owner of the phone contacted the driver and offered to pay the driver to return the phone, but when the driver returned the phone, the owner refused any monetary reimbursement. The dispute was resolved.

 

Unwanted person in Rich Hall

Building security for Rich Hall reported around 3 a.m. Wednesday that a resident exited his room to use the bathroom and returned to see an unwanted person enter his room and lock the door. The resident did not have a key and an RA was contacted to assist with reentry. Facilities were called to clean up urine on the floor outside the room. BUPD arrived and the unwanted person was removed.
