Jesse Broder Van Dyke’s column (“BU students miss out on Must-See TV shows” March 14) brought tears to my eyes. As a television major and an editor of Bay State, the longest running college soap opera in the country, I am constantly reminded of how poor the facilities are at Boston University.
The decision not to wire the rest of the dorms for TV reception is number one on my list of bad decisions made by unqualified people. Van Dyke’s column laid the issue out before everyone so convincingly that any fool can see that TV reception is a worthwhile, if not necessary investment. Of course Westling will ignore all “logic” and “reasoning” put forth by his dumb students. Oh well, at least I can listen to the University Radio Station … wait, no I can’t.
