If it wasn’t bad enough that their team lost in such a close fashion, it should be disappointing to the entire Boston College community that their fans could not act in a more civil manner after losing such a close game. Shortly after the final buzzer sounded signifying an all too common Boston University Beanpot win, I ribbed a few BC fans with chants of “Go B-U” and “Con-so-la-tion”, however these chants cause one BC fan to shout to me “Go back to Iran you a**hole.” First thing, he’s an idiot. I’m an American, born in Queens, NY and my parents were born in India and have lived here for thirty years. Second, if your team loses, leave quietly and graciously, nothing is worse a sore loser. Thirdly, fight against sports chants with other creative sports chants, why spoil your school’s reputation by representing it as an ignorant racist bastard. I don’t see the point. Well, at least they have the consolation game…
