A/B CRIME LOG: Food Deliverer Assaulted And Robbed

The following were taken from last week’s District 14 Allston-Brighton crime reports.

A 62-year-old Cambridge man was reportedly accosted and robbed at gun-point as he attempted to deliver Chinese food on Saturday, Feb. 9.

The victim reported he arrived at the 85 Faneuil St. apartment to deliver food from the China Maxim 3 Restaurant around 10 p.m. After there was no answer to his call, he entered the front hallway and was allegedly accosted by two teenage males, both reportedly wearing dark clothing.

The first suspect allegedly held up a gun and demanded the victim’s money. After the victim handed over $60, the second suspect reportedly assaulted the victim, injuring his hand and breaking his eyeglasses.

The suspects fled in an unknown direction, and the victim returned to the restaurant and called the police. Officers responded to the call at 10:14 p.m. and conducted an extensive search of the area to no avail.

STOLEN CHECKS

Ashraf Ahmed, 24, of Allston, gave a written confession on Jan. 19 to repeatedly cashing American Express checks at the two Sovereign Bank branches where he was previously employed.

While employed as a teller at the Symphony and Allston branches of Sovereign Bank, Ahmed allegedly cashed 10 checks, each valued at $100, which were reported missing between October and December, 2000.

He also allegedly processed and took an unauthorized bank check for $3,200 and deposited it in a separate account at Fleet Bank, but the majority was withdrawn before the account was put on hold.

Ahmed also confessed to processing a stolen money order worth $400 and depositing it into his uncle’s Sovereign account.

Detectives filed a report on Feb. 6 summoning Ahmed to court.

ASSAULT ‘ BATTERY

A party guest allegedly assaulted three women early Sunday, Feb. 10, at 43 Matchet St. in Brighton.

Three female victims, all age 23, reported they were assaulted after asking a guest at their party, Jaimie Duff of 931 East 4th St. in South Boston, to leave because he was “getting rude.” Duff allegedly struck the women in the face, threw them to the ground and fled in an unknown direction.

All three women had scratches and red marks on their faces and chest areas but refused medical attention.

Officers advised the women to file charges against Duff.

LARCENY

A representative of the 60 Everett St. Stop ‘ Shop reported a larceny that took place Jan. 16 around 1:00 p.m.

Through a surveillance camera, the representative reportedly observed Clifford Best, a 19-year-old Stop ‘ Shop employee, of 21 Long Ave. in Allston, stealing $260 from the cash register.

A store representative filed a criminal complaint for larceny against Best on Feb. 7.

ROBBERY OF CASH AND PRESCRIPTIONS

An unknown suspect reportedly stole $100 and four bottles of prescription medicine from 97 Chestnut St. in Allston on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 5:00 p.m.

The victim told a police officer that he was walking in a rear alley of Chester Street when he was punched in the right side of his face. The suspect allegedly ordered him to give him all his money and empty his pockets.

The victim reported he gave the suspect $100 and four bottles of medicine used to treat depression and anxiety. The suspect then allegedly fled toward Gardner Street, limping with his right leg.

Two detectives arrived at the scene but were unable to find the suspect.
