Comments from Professor Pratt’s letter to the editor, “Gain perspective by studying abroad,” on Tuesday were very insensitive to the victims and to their families and friends involved in the Sept. 11 World Trade Center tragedy. I am more upset because one of BU’s own, and a friend of mine, Mark Bavis, was among the “few hundred airline passengers.” Any loss of life is a tragedy, no matter where it occurs, and Mr. Pratt should have been more respectful in his comments.
