As a recent University of Maine alum, I would like to take the time to address the BU hockey fans who attended the NCAA quarterfinal game in the Centrum. When our senior captain Peter Metcalf carried a Shawn Walsh jersey around the rink after a classic game, I was touched by the respect and class demonstrated by an abundance of BU fans. After watching your team get bounced from the NCAAs, you still found it in you pay your respects to our fallen yet not forgotten coach. This sportsmanship is unparalled. When compared to other schools in the league, especially New Hampshire and BC, it is clearly obvious that BU fans know what it means to respect the game. Trust me, your class didn’t go unnoticed in Orono. For those of who cheered, We will never forget your act of kindness. Thank you
