To the Daily Free Press,
As a gay alum of Boston University I wasn’t at all surprised by Silber’s demand for the dissolving of BU Academy’s Gay-Straight Alliance. He states he doesn’t want to push an agenda. What agenda would this be? The “safe and nurturing environment” agenda for gay teens?
Silber is one to talk about agendas. He ran for Governor of Massachusetts in the early 90’s and lost – big time – mostly because of his unpopular agendas like opposition to equal pay for women.
There definitely is an agenda here, but it has nothing to do with what the students at BU Academy are organizing. It is rather, the agenda of one warped individual who continues to tarnish the image of an otherwise great and tolerant university.
