To the Editor:
Re your article on the Benjamin Franklin celebration at Boston’s Immigration Museum (“Ben Franklin’s 294th Birthday Celebrated,” Jan. 21):
Mr. Franklin was born in Boston in 1706. That would make this year the 297th anniversary of his birth, leaving the cake a few candles short.
And I had thought him above such vanity.
