Boccuzzi received severe damages

n In the article about John Sabo’s alleged attack on Christopher Boccuzzi, The Daily Free Press reported that Boccuzzi’s face was bloody and swollen (‘Hockey player faces charges,’ Jan. 27, pg. 1). The damage done to Chris was far more severe than these words can describe.

I visited him at Children’s Hospital Boston the day after his eight-and-a-half hour reconstructive surgery. During surgery, he had metal plates inserted in his face to support his cheekbones, mesh netting put underneath his left eye and then spent two days in the hospital recovering. He had a suction tube in his mouth to prevent himself from constantly drooling because he was unable to control it himself after surgery. On top of all this, he missed two-and-a-half weeks of classes last semester and was unable to live full time at school for more than three weeks.

I feel everyone should know the severity of the allegations against Sabo, and not shrug this off as a just another nitpicking victim of a bar fight.
