‘MPERSAND

Following President Bush’s State of the Union address on Tuesday, Chancellor Silber gave his own State of Boston University address to the Board of Trustees. We here at ol’ Free Press have gotten our hands on a copy of his speech. Here’s some highlights of the two-hour long address.

Like Bush, Silber started off by tackling issues close to home, mainly the need to cut down on voyeurism and all that partial trysting. Silber has caught numerous trysters, such as the sophomore in Rich Hall room 502, the senior at 48 Buswell and even a lucky freshman at Warren Towers 1506C. Silber said, ‘They are no longer a problem for Boston University and our friends and allies.’

After promising to remain vigilant against the trysters who have been put on the run, Silber vowed to apply the compassion of BU by helping all those frustrated by slow ‘T’ service by giving $1.2 thousand (half of the endowment) toward developing a hydrogen-powered Green Line.

However, the meat of Silber’s address focused on that threatening regime further down Commonwealth Avenue. After repeated attacks on the hockey team, Boston College is ripe for ‘regime change,’ as Silber’s first target among his ‘Axis of Evil.’ Silber also warned Harvard and Northeastern, saying Feb. 3 will decide their fate, and if a BU defeat is not evil, then evil has no meaning. The pucks will start flying in five minutes.
