Security guard’s death upsetting

I am currently a resident of The Towers and have been recently upset over the passing of a well-loved security guard, Thomas Grimes. More importantly, I have been upset and surprised at the way Boston University has handled the situation. The only way I found out about his death was from your article in Wednesday’s publication (’44-year-old BU security guard dies suddenly,’ March 19, pg. 1). I feel that your article was the only kind of commemoration of Mr. Grimes’ life.

The only form of acknowledgment of his passing from The Towers’ residence hall was a black-and-white copy of his picture taped sloppily to the security booth. I feel that BU’s Office of Housing should have created a more substantial and meaningful memorial in Thomas Grimes’ name. That is the least they could have done for such a well-loved, hard-working and friendly man.
