The days of lame “Spring Thaw” events like Guster and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones are long gone. I know they’ve got their fan bases and all, but it was hard to settle for those acts knowing that other Boston area schools were presenting Outkast and Jimmy Fallon.
But sticking it out until senior year finally paid off. We got real celebrities this time Saturday Night Live comedians Jim Breuer and Tracy Morgan. I thought my ears were playing tricks on me during the show … I mean, was I really hearing all of this profanity at a Boston University function? I sure was, and enjoyed every damn minute of it!
We all owe thanks to the Programming Council for making us feel like real college students over the weekend. And a very special thanks to the “True 2” slate for being down to earth and springing a couple of us backstage after the show … vote “True 2!”
