Med Center bookstore robbed

The Barnes ‘ Noble bookstore at the Boston University Medical Center was robbed at knifepoint yesterday morning, Boston University Police Department Sgt. Jeff Burke said yesterday.

Police reports said a brown-haired African-American man, who was an estimated six feet tall and 45 years old, took $127 from the store, located at 700 Albany St., at 9:54 a.m. After holding a knife to one employee’s throat and ordering another to remove the cash from a register on the store’s bottom floor, the man then walked off with a limp and left the scene in a large maroon van, reports said.

Burke said BUPD detectives have no suspects and the matter is under investigation.
