Investigative Journalist?

Dear BU Community:

A poorly written letters authored by myself was sent to the FreePress as well as The Student Underground (just last week)

With extensive coverage given to the tuition hikes, layoffs, and Administration’s Spin by the Free Press, I thought: since I am a member of the community, alumni, and ex-manager, my knowledge may be of some value in improving Boston University.

Specifically, leaders at BU pissed away our $$$ hiring unqualified or outrageously acting relatives, friends, and boyfriends of their own and Trustees.

Secondly, I wrote of “special contracts” that took place in my department that were wasteful

Finally, I wrote of the retaliation. In each case I offered proof. The Underground and FreePress contacted mme to run the substance of my letter. The FressPress backed off, offering an explanation that “it didn’t have proof.” That is reasonable and what any good jounalist should do. The fact that the Fress Press did not ask, but the Underground did ( they were only contacted last week, and provided with invoices, affadavits, safety reports, etc.)could imply that the Administration has an undue influence over the Free Press, but since the FreePress ran a letter about the inappropriate treament of gays that I wrote stating “that happened in housing” without any proof, I am suspect as to your ability to remain objective.

The Underground’s letter got a # of items wrong, but the essence is there. BU’s actions do not pass anyone’s smell test.

One standard for all crimes. Talk to me.We had people in security providing booze to the students, using drugs, etc. but because they were connected….a different standard. John Silber’s old driver promoted to Lt. in the BUPD, and he is up on child rape charges. Either that is a “different standard” or our leaders think we will never say “enough”.

Two sides to every story. I encourage you to be fair, but not to be lapdogs. Your coveraged of the DOE’s decision read like a BU press release. I was working there when a number of salaried people where outraged (but too afraid)with Roslonski’s treatment by us. They was done purposely to discourage her and others. I was given a warning for reporting a gun threat approx. one week before the “Wacko shooting” that killed seven in Waltham. Keep the crime rates low, don’t report it. The rape at Loretto. Our behavior before (knowing Loretto was vulnerable,) after,(playing with evidence, not fixing the equipment, having people still sneak in)was inexcusable. Housing Director Marc Robillard went golfing the next morning!

Two sides. Ask them. I’ll respond. Alumni will be interested. You will be Alumni.

Good luck to all the graduates!
