Computers, clothes hot items

The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department’s crime logs for March 15 through March 27.

A $2,000 Apple laptop computer, allegedly left out for 10 minutes in the College of Fine Arts, was reported stolen at 1:05 p.m. on Monday, March 22. A graphic design component of the computer was valued at $4,000. A $60 Motorola cell phone was also believed to be stolen from CFA around the same time.

BU EDUCATION LEAVES ALUMS BROKE

28-year old Brookline resident and BU Alumnus Michael S. Batson was arrested for vandalism at 3 a.m. on March 27 when he smashed the passenger-side window of a Boston Cab Company car in front of Warren Towers. Batson apparently struck the window after arguing with his cab driver over a $5.30 fare. He was arrested at the scene.

CLOTHES YOUR LOCKERS

More than $660 worth of clothing and cash was stolen from an unlocked locker in the Case Gymnasium men’s locker room on Sunday, March 21. A BU student called at 3:41 p.m. to report that his pants, sweater, jacket, wallet and $10 in cash were missing from the locker he had left at 2 p.m.

APPLE EQUIPMENT JUST FLIES OF THE SHELVES

A resident of 22 Buswell St. said $1,150 and an Apple iPod were missing from her room when she returned at 5 p.m. after being gone for three hours on Wednesday, March 24. BUPD reported that there were no signs of a breaking and entering, but the woman said she locked the door after she left.

I WAS JUST PRAYING

BU student Nicholas Zegal, 18, was arrested for spray-painting graffiti on the electrical light control box on the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Harry Agganis Way at 3:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 26. BUPD approached Zegel after they saw someone kneeling down and spray-painting.

DIDN’T LEARN THE MORALES OF THE STORY

David Morales, 43, of Jamaica Plain, was arrested on a warrant for Heroin distribution charges at 10:23 a.m. Wednesday, March 24 near the BU Medical Center.
