Letters to the Editor: Golf deserves coverage

n For three and a half years now I have been used to not getting much ink-time, but up until now we haven’t really deserved much attention.

The men’s golf team is off to its best start in many years, and no one knows about it. To top it off, a new player on the team had a “hole in one” during our last tournament, and there was not word one mentioned.

A HOLE IN ONE!!! There are many golfers who have played all their lives and never had an ace, especially not in a collegiate tournament on a 215-yard hole that was playing more like 230.

Do I understand that not many people care about the golf team? Yes. But I also believe that great accomplishments shouldn’t go unnoticed. Maybe next time The Daily Free Press can buy the celebratory Pepsi-cola.
