Campus Crime Logs

The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department crime logs from Feb. 4-10.

BUPD received a report at 8:55 a.m. Feb. 7 of a female party looking at pornography on the Internet at Mugar Memorial Library.

Officers removed the party from the library and gave her a warning about looking at pornography on any BU property.

Catch Me If You Can

A BUPD officer pursued a suspect on foot at 2:03 a.m. Jan. 4 after an incident outside the Hotel Commonwealth at 500 Commonwealth Ave.

The officer caught the suspect at the Newbury Street extension behind the hotel. A second party out in front of the hotel was placed under arrest.

Both parties were charged with assault and battery, as well as assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Allergic Reaction

BUPD received a report at 12:15 a.m. Feb. 5 from a caller claiming a female party was having an allergic reaction to beer at Warren Towers.

The victim was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

Carbon Monoxide Scare

BUPD received a report at 11:22 a.m. Feb. 8 of a carbon monoxide alarm going off in the generator room of The Towers residence hall.

The Boston Fire Department and the Environmental Health Office were notified. All residents were evacuated from the building.

The BFD cleared the area, and students returned to the building shortly after.

Too Much to Drink

BUPD received a report at 2:07 p.m. Feb. 8 of a 16-year-old girl passed out near the vicinity of 1 University Road.

The victim was transported to Boston Children’s Hospital.

Suspicious Vehicle

BUPD received a report at 1:56 a.m. Feb. 9 from Massachusetts State Police requesting both BUPD and Boston Police help find a stolen vehicle around Kenmore Street.

The vehicle’s window was broken, but state police could not determine whether the damage was from gunshots or vandalism.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Security Guard

BUPD received a report at 4:25 a.m. Feb. 10 from Housing Security claiming a male resident was trying to bring a drunk female party into the 575 Commonwealth Ave. residence hall after hours.

Both parties were refused entrance into the building.

The Housing Security officer offered help for the female party, but both parties left the building.

McProblem

BUPD received a report at 12:05 a.m. Feb. 5 from a McDonald’s employee reporting a party inside the restaurant causing a disturbance at 949 Commonwealth Ave.

Officers arrived on the scene, but the party left prior to their arrival.
