The following reports were taken from the Allston-Brighton District D-14 crime logs from Sept. 17-23.
Just before 1 a.m. on Sept. 18, officers patrolling the streets of Brighton observed a car turning onto Linden Street without signaling, causing an interference with traffic.
The officers then noticed the car’s windows were illegally tinted on both the passenger and driver sides. Officers followed the car and watched it make another turn without signaling before pulling over the driver and requesting his license and registration. The driver did not have a license to operate a vehicle in Massachusetts and had an expired license for the state of Minnesota.
A second suspect in the passenger side of the car placed something under his seat. When the officers asked what it was, he told them it was a needle for heroin. The suspect also admitted being in possession of one Klonadine pill, for which he said his prescription was at home.
A third victim was observed in the back seat putting something between her legs. When officers asked her what she was hiding, she handed them a glasses case containing six hypodermic needles, a rubber band, a water bottle and a metal container with an off-white liquid believed to be heroin.
The first suspect was placed under arrest for unlicensed operation, failure to use turn signal and excessive tint of windows. The second suspect was placed under arrest for possession of class E drugs — Klonadine and Viagra. The third suspect was placed under arrest for possession of a class A drug — heroin.
CAR WAS HOT AND DRIVER WAS
HEATED
Just before 3 a.m. Sept. 17, an officer patrolling the Allston area observed a car speeding down Harvard Avenue with a defective right tail light. The officer conducted a regular traffic stop near Cambridge Street near North Harvard.
The operator of the vehicle presented a valid license, but his registration did not match. The suspect claimed he had purchased the vehicle days before and was in the process of transferring the registration.
The officer asked for the receipt of sale, which the suspect could not produce. When the officer called for a tow truck, the suspect became agitated, belligerent and verbally abusive.
The suspect got personal, blasting the officer’s professional standards, wife and racial prejudices. He also threatened legal action if any property in the trunk was damaged or tampered with. The suspect was told to lock the trunk and take all keys with him.
The plates were seized and turned into the D-14 auto investigator. The officer explained to the suspect all necessary procedures required to retrieve the vehicle.
