BU adds another blowout win to its resume with 79-62 triumph over UNH

To say that the Boston University women’s basketball team is on a winning streak would be an understatement ‘-‘- a blowout streak might be more appropriate.

The Terriers (10-6, 4-0 America East) continued their string of lopsided victories by dismantling the University of New Hampshire (3-14, 1-2), 79-62, on Saturday afternoon at Case Gymnasium.

BU has won each of its last five games by an average of more than 13 points per game. It has won its last two games by 18 and 17 points, respectively.

America East’s second-leading scorer and senior co-captain Jesyka Burks-Wiley had a milestone day as she passed the 1,000-point mark for her career. Burks-Wiley tied her career-high for points with 24 and hauled in nine rebounds.

Senior guard Amarachi Umez-Eronini caused problems for the UNH offense all game, finishing with career bests in steals (six) and assists (nine). She also added eight points and four boards. Umez-Eronini carried the load of guarding UNH’s best shooter, junior guard Amy Simpson, and was often defended by one of UNH’s best
