The Boston University lacrosse team has been ranked 10th in the country by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Division I preseason poll, released Monday. The ranking follows an 18-3 season, featuring a perfect record in conference play, a fourth consecutive America East championship and a spot in the NCAA quarterfinals.
The Terriers, ranked seventh in the final IWLCA poll of 2008, start the season on Feb. 25, hosting the University of Massachusetts-Amherst at Nickerson Field. BU is slated to play five other nationally ranked teams: at No. 2 Syracuse University on March 4, vs. No. 12 Vanderbilt University on March 7, at No. 5 the University of Pennsylvania on March 11, at conference foe No. 14 the University of New Hampshire on April 1 and vs. No. 13 Dartmouth College on April 22.
Head coach Liz Robertshaw welcomes back 21 letter-winners and 10 starters from last season’s team, led by first-team All-American senior midfielder Sarah Dalton.
