A trolley derailed on the Green Line in the Government Center T station at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority spokesman Joe Pesaturo said.
The train was not in service and only two crewmembers were aboard. No one was injured, according to Pesaturo. The incident, which occurred as the inbound trolley was looping to go outbound, is still under investigation.
Pesaturo said there is nothing to indicate the incident was the result of any mechanical or structural defects, and derailments in general are very rare.
Green Line service is currently suspended between Government Center and North Station, he said.’
