Stool’d ya, fooled ya

The following reports were taken from the Boston Police Department Allston-Brighton District D-14 crime logs from Oct. 18 to Oct. 23.

Officers responded to a call about a person with a gun at Kell’s Bar at 161 Brighton Ave. in Allston at 1:57 a.m. on Oct. 18. The bartender informed the officers that a black male patron had become belligerent and his woman companion had thrown her drink and a bar stool at the bartender. The suspects were escorted from the bar and later returned in their vehicle, threatening to shoot up the establishment. Officers detained the suspects and determined there was no firearm. The man was released and the woman was arrested.

YOU ROCK MY WORLD

A man reported that the window of his house in Brighton had been smashed by a huge rock at about 5:40 p.m. on Oct. 19. The caller’s neighbor had seen a suspect pacing around in front of the caller’s house before throwing the rock through the window. The caller told police that earlier he had witnessed suspects throwing rocks at his roof, and after confronting them, they had stated, ‘You stay here, I’ll be back,’ and left before returning later to throw the rock through the window.

AN EVEN TRADE?

Officers responded to a breaking-and-entering call at 221 N. Beacon St. in Brighton at 6:45 a.m. on Oct. 22. The victim reported two laptops had been stolen from her office and a rubber-handled hammer with a Patriots logo had been left in their place the night before. Officers secured the hammer as evidence.

ROSA PARKS, HE’S NOT

An officer arrested a disorderly person who had been removed from an MBTA bus at 509 Cambridge St. in Allston at 11:24 p.m. on Oct. 22. The man had been removed peacefully from the bus but wanted to lodge a complaint about his experience on the bus. After the officer told him to notify MBTA, the suspect became belligerent, cursing at the officer and telling him to ‘take off his badge so they could talk about it.’ The officer smelled alcohol on the man and after warning him to calm down, arrested him.’

I PITY THE SPRINKLER

Officers responded to a call about a man and a woman shoplifting at Shaw’s at 1065 Commonwealth Ave. in Brighton at 5:25 p.m. on Oct. 23. The individuals were arrested and identified as a husband and wife. Upon search the man was discovered to be carrying a pair of brass knuckles, which were seized. After being placed in a holding cell, the man smashed the ceiling sprinkler system, causing an estimated $2500 in damage. He was moved to another cell to await processing.
