Runaway Bride

The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department crime logs for the week of Feb. 3 to Feb. 10.

BUPD responded to a call from a security guard on the Medical Campus at 771 Albany St. at 1:08 a.m. on Feb. 3. The guard said a psychology patient “eloped”, and requested officers help locate the patient.

SNEAKY SMOKERS

A caller reported three suspicious men in the rear alley near 648 Beacon St. at 6:02 p.m. on Feb. 3. When BUPD investigated the area they found the three men were actually sheltering themselves from the wind while smoking cigarettes.

BOTTOM CHEF

BUPD received a call from a student reporting a fire alarm at 728 Commonwealth Ave. at 10:06 p.m. on Feb. 3. The caller reported he smelled smoke in the building, and BUPD determined the alarm was caused by “poor cooking.”

“BUZZ” WORTHY

A caller reported a suspicious female was selling magazines at 91 Bay State Rd. at 3:29 p.m. on Feb. 5. The caller wanted to give a description of the unwanted person to BUPD, and said the person was inside the building selling magazines, but left when the caller approached her.

ANIMAL HOUSE

BUPD responded to a call from 117 Bay State Rd. at 12 a.m. on Feb. 6. The callers said there were people on the rooftop of the building, who possibly came from the fraternity house next door.

HOJO HUMPTY DUMPTY

A caller reported that a woman fell from her bed at 575 Commonwealth Ave., injuring her back, at 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 7. The woman was conscious and alert after the fall and was later taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center to be examined.

WAS IT SOMETHING I SAID?

A student flagged down an officer to investigate an open door at their apartment on 580 Commonwealth Ave. at 10:42 p.m. on Feb. 8. The officer determined the apartment was empty, and the students’ roommate had moved out.

PALE ALE

BUPD responded to a call of a disruptive person at 925 Commonwealth Ave. at 6 p.m. on Feb. 9. The caller reported a “pale” person was in front of the building yelling and disturbing people passing by.
