Dryer States of Dissaray

The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department crime logs and BUPD news blog from Feb. 22 to Mar. 3.

A BU student reported his some of his laundry was stolen at 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 24 at 610 Beacon St. The caller said he left his laundry in a dryer in the basement of Myles Standish Hall for more than24 hours, and when he returned he found his laundry on a folding table. The caller said his North Face coat was missing from the pile of clothes.

TAKE A SEAT

A caller reported two large chairs had been stolen from a lounge near his office at 704 Commonwealth Ave. sometime over the weekend of Feb. 20 to 21. The BU employee said the chairs were stolen from the lounge outside of his office. He also said the chairs were valued at $3,500 each.

INJEANIOUS CRIMINAL

BUPD responded to a call about an armed robbery at 5 p.m. on Feb. 27 at 524 Commonwealth Ave. The caller said a black male with a silver handgun took $300 from a register at the Jean Therapy retail store. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

iSTEAL WHILE uPLAY

BUPD responded to a call at 10 p.m. on Feb. 26 at 915 Commonwealth Ave. The caller said he was playing basketball at the Fitness and Recreation Center and set his iPhone and headphones down on the floor near the padded wall of the court. After his game was over, the phone was missing.

WORLD’S SMALLEST
VIOLA BOW?

A caller reported her viola bow was stolen from 855 Commonwealth Ave. at 5 p.m. on Feb. 28. The caller said she was practicing with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra and left her instrument and bow in a room while she took a break. When she returned, her case had been opened and the bow, valued at $700, was missing.

PEEPING TOM ON
THE JOHN

BUPD responded to a call at 595 Commonwealth Ave. on Feb. 22. The female victim said that while using a second floor women’s restroom, she saw a male looking over the top of the stall. The woman then exited the building after meeting her friend and followed the suspect out of the building before the suspect fled the area. He is described as a Hispanic male, about five foot five inches to five foot seven inches. He was reportedly wearing a grey-hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
