Campus Crime Logs: Finders keepers

<em>The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department crime logs from Sept. 13 - Sept. 16.</em>

Early Sunday morning at about 1:45 a.m., a student took an unsecured bicycle from a meter on 610 Beacon St. BUPD officers were in an unmarked vehicle and looking specifically for bicycle thieves. The student was questioned by the police and stated he "found" the bike. The officers arrested the student for larceny.

<strong>Blame it on the Alcohol</strong>

BUPD responded early Sunday morning to reports of loud music being played at 870 Beacon St. When the student residents would not let the police enter the apartment, the police called the residence assistant of the floor to gain access to the room. The officers entered the apartment at about 12:50 a.m. and charged the two residents of the apartment for being minors in possession of alcohol. The police also charged a student who was over 21 for providing alcohol to minors. All three students will be summoned to Roxbury District Court.

<strong>The Bike Whisperer </strong>

On Tuesday, officers stopped a man riding a bicycle while he pulled another bicycle behind him at 100 Mountfort St. at about 12:30 a.m. When the police questioned the man and asked him why he had a second bicycle, he did not provide a consistent story. Police then charged him for receiving stolen property.

<strong>Fashion Week's Fashion Creep</strong>

A female student called BUPD on the Sept. 13 to report three articles of clothing had been stolen from her apartment on Bay State Road. The student estimated that the articles of clothing had been stolen between Sept. 1 at 5 p.m. and Sept. 10 at 10 p.m. The lost articles of clothing include a skirt and an exercise shirt.

<strong>Tempted by the Touch</strong>

On Sept. 13, a male student reported his iPod Touch as missing. The student was at Einstein Bros Bagels in the College of Arts and Sciences basement doing homework when he walked away for about five minutes. When he returned, his gadget was missing.
