Penny Theft

The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department crime logs from Nov. 28 to Dec. 4.

Two breaking and entering cases were reported at the apartments of 32 Gerald Road. on Nov. 28. The victims of the first apartment said that while they had been home for Thanksgiving break, someone entered through their back door. Upon returning home at 5 p.m. on Sunday, the victims discovered that the back door was unlocked and $5 to $10 in change had been stolen.

The residents of the second apartment had also been home for Thanksgiving break. Upon arriving to their residence at 5:30 p.m. the victims discovered that an unknown person had forcibly opened the rear door of their second story apartment. Once inside the suspect had forcibly opened locked bedrooms doors and ransacked the rooms. Nothing appeared to be stolen, but the victims needed to check with their third roommate before verifying.

Officers on Nov. 26 were called to 200 Lake St. where a student taking Chinese classes at the International School of Language reported that someone stole his cell phone from his desk during class. The cell phone was a T Mobile BlackBerry valued at $400. No arrests have been made.

The Warren Street Burglar

Officers responded to two car burglaries at 25 Warren St. on Nov. 28.

The first victim stated that he parked his car in the Brighton High School Parking lot at 1 p.m., where he always parks for work. When he returned at 6:30 p.m., the front driver’s side window was broken and his car radio and iPod had been stolen.

The second victim parked her vehicle in the same Brighton High School lot at 1 p.m. and went to work at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. When she returned to her car at 7 p.m., the front side passenger’s window was broken into and her Tom-Tom GPS system had been stolen from the glove compartment. No arrests have been made.
