They wished they were Rico
On Wednesday afternoon, officers responded to a report of a breaking and entering happening in Roxbury. Two people had removed a front side window screen to gain access into the house. After announcing the officer’s presence, a suspect came outside and told the officers he owned the house. When he did not have identification or know the address of the house the suspect was placed under custody and admitted, “OK, I don’t live here! There is one more person in the house but I don’t know his name.” As soon as the police entered the house to find the other suspect, the owners’ dog Rico went to the basement and scratched a door from which the second suspect immediately exited and tried to run. As the suspect tried to flee, Rico ran after him and caught the suspect. The two men were charged with breaking and entering in the daytime.
