The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police
Department crime logs from March 28 to April 4, 2011.
On March 28 at 3:40 p.m. BUPD received a call informing them that the
fire alarm on the second floor at 580 Commonwealth Ave. had been
activated. There was no fire, so BUPD said the act may have been
malicious.
Bad chemistry
On March 29 at 7 p.m. a male student called BUPD because his chemistry
books and laptop had been stolen from the Subway at Warren Towers
while left unattended for a short time.
Weiner mobile
The owner of Campus Trolley, the lunch stand at 665 Commonwealth
Avenue, reported to BUPD on March 30 at 10 a.m. that his advertising
board had been stolen.
Do you have the time?
An unarmed robbery occurred on March 30 at 2 p.m. at 615 Beacon St.
The suspect said two males approached him from behind and asked for
the time, at which point they demanded his belongings. They took his
iPod, inspected it and handed it back.
Celebrating 4/20 early
An RA in Warren Towers contacted BUPD on March 30 at 10:45 p.m. to
report the smell of pot in one of the dorms. When BUPD investigated, a
male student and a female student were in the room together, and the
male will be cited for possession of marijuana.
Potheads anonymous
At The Towers at 140 Bay State Rd. on March 31 at 5:15 p.m. an RA
smelled pot, and a male student will be cited for possession of
marijuana.
“Time” for a re-do
At 8 p.m. on April 1 BUPD received a call from a male student at 575
Commonwealth Ave. who claimed that two black males came up behind him
and asked for the time. They then robbed him of $45. These suspects
are most likely the same people from the March 30 unarmed robbery,
according to BUPD.
Gotta get down on Friday
On April 1 at 11:30 p.m. BUPD wrote up two male students in Sleeper
Hall for having a party with some beer and wine.
Cleaned out
A female student called BUPD on April 2 at 11:30 a.m. from 610 Beacon
St. to report that her wallet had been stolen after she left it in the
laundry room.
Dry humor
On April 2 at 11:30 p.m. a female student reported that some, but not
all, of her clothing had been stolen from a dryer in the laundry room
at Warren Towers.
