When they entered the address, the officers noticed a strong smell of burnt marijuana in the hallway and saw five individuals sitting in the stairwell, one of whom tried to run away when the officers asked if any of them lived there. Where’s the bathroom?

Police officers in Dorchester were patrolling at about 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21 when they noticed a man urinating in the street near 11 Belden St. Officers noted that there were young children near the man, who was not being subtle about the fact that he was urinating in public, and began to approach the suspect. He immediately started to leave and get into the back seat of a nearby car upon seeing the officers, who were able to detain him before he could get in. The driver told the officers, who were questioning the suspect, to “Give him a break. He’s a working man.” The officers asked the driver why he would allow his friend to urinate in the middle of the street, to which the driver replied that he didn’t know he was going to go right there. The man was arrested and charged with open and gross lewdness.
