The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department crime logs from Aug. 29 to Sept. 5, 2011.
Quick Change
On Aug. 29, a BU employee at 928 Comm. Ave. reported his Apple iPad stolen after leaving his office door open. The suspect entered a men’s room, changed his shirt and left the scene before police arrived.
Misplaced the keys again
On Aug. 31 it was reported two master keys were taken from 226 Bay State Rd. The locks are being replaced.
Why’d the bicycle cross the road?
On Sept. 1 at the intersection of Buswell Street and Park Drive, a male student operating a Mazda hit a female student on a bicycle. She was transported to Boston Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Unpleasant surprise
At 808 Comm. Ave. on Sept. 1, a student reported that his vehicle was struck by an unknown vehicle. The car had been parked for two days.
Stalker status
At 775 Comm. Ave. on Sept. 1, a female employee at Citizens Bank reported a suspicious male whom she recognized from last semester. The non-affiliate said the suspect somehow knew all her personal information, and she believes he is a student.
Baby, come back
On Sept. 2, a female student at 1066 Comm. Ave. reported numerous unwanted phone calls from a former male love-interest.
U-Hit
At the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Buick Street, a university vehicle was struck by a U-Haul truck on Sept. 3. The collision caused minor damage.
Run, Esplanade, run!
On Sept. 4, a female non-affiliate was suspected of stealing a cell phone from another non-affiliate driving a motor vehicle. BUPD officers chased her down the Esplanade, but the cell phone was not present when they caught her. The suspect was released.
Face, meet pavement
At 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 5, a female student crashed her bicycle into the sidewalk in front of 725 Comm. Ave. and was transported to Beth Israel Medical Center for minor head injuries.
