Walking the Dog
Police responded to a female assault victim at the corner of Chester Street and Gardner Street in Allston at 2 a.m. last Wednesday. Upon arrival, police saw the victim, a 24-year-old musician, sitting in the front hallway of her home nearby bleeding from a wound over her right eye. She was covered in blood and also had a severely swollen left knee. She said that while walking her dog on the corner, she was pushed from behind by three unknown males. Her head hit the fence and her knee hit the ground. Her roommate found her on the front landing of their home and told officers her roommate had only left for about five minutes. The victim was taken to Beth Israel Hospital for further treatment. The landing was covered in blood, but officers were unable to find a trail on the street. The victim was unable to give any descriptions of the suspects.
Face-off
At 2:15 a.m. last Friday, police arrived on scene to a large group of males that were reportedly fighting at 83 Harvard Ave. in Allston. On arrival, police saw a 24-year-old male lying on the ground bleeding from his face and nose among a crowd of 30 other people. His cousin came forward and initially told police that the victim had been assaulted and kicked in the face by two black males. Police noted that the witness seemed drunk, and he later changed his story saying that three white males suddenly attacked the two of them and stomped on the victim’s face. The victim was transported to Beth Israel Hospital. Surveillance from Common Ground Bar & Grill showed that the two men walked by and exchanged words with three other males who were smoking outside. The victim first punched one of the unknown males in the face, and the unknown male returned the blow by kneeing the victim in the face multiple times. After falling to the ground, a second unknown male kicked the victim in the face. At the hospital, the victim admitted, “I fed up man, my fault I fed up.” His injuries were not life-threatening
Jawbreaker
Two males in their mid-twenties walked into the Allston-Brighton police station to report an assault and battery at 2:30 a.m. last Saturday. The males said they were assaulted by two unknown white males outside of Sunset Grill & Tap at 130 Brighton Ave. in Allston. The two suspects approached the two victims aggressively, and after one victim flicked his cigarette toward the aggressor, he was struck in the jaw. The other suspect hit the other victim at the same time. Victims said that both suspects began walking toward Harvard Avenue. They took a taxi to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital where one was found to have a fractured mandible and the other a fractured facial bone. The suspects have not been found.
Ah, sugar, sugar
On Sunday at 9 p.m., officers responded to a call regarding vandalism to a motor vehicle at 600 Washington St. in Brighton. The caller, a 33-year-old male, said that when he returned to his vehicle that was parked outside of the Sunoco station, he saw a man next to it. When he got closer, he saw that brown sugar was poured into his gas tank. The suspect was his friend of two years, but he told police and the victim that he had nothing to do with it. Police told the victim to notify his insurance company if his car malfunctions.
