Life in the Fast Lane

On Oct. 17 at 2:30 a.m., police noticed a man who appeared to be having a psychotic episode in his car while in Kenmore Square. At 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 17, a man became verbally abusive after an officer tried to ticket him for blocking the bike lane with his motor vehicle. The man, not affiliated with BU, told the officer to “f— off” when he was confronted, and then he sped off. Police have his license plate number and will mail him a citation.

Oceanfront property

An electrician working at 208 Bay State Rd. hit a water main on Oct. 18 at 11 a.m., causing the fire alarm to activate. The Boston Fire Department responded to the incident, and the building was evacuated for the rest of the afternoon. The leak and flooding was fixed about three or four hours later, and residents returned.

False alarm

On Oct. 19 at 12:00 a.m., two BU students reported to BUPD from 15 Bay State Rd. that they heard people having a loud argument. The students also reported hearing a sound similar to a gunshot. When police arrived to the scene, nothing was heard or found, and the case was dropped.

Karma

A male student reported at 7:45 p.m. on Oct. 22 that his car had been broken into while parked near 698 Beacon St. The student said he entered a nearby bank, and when he exited, he saw that someone had broken into his car. None of his belongings were stolen. The student said that even before entering the bank he saw a man trying car doors in the area. Regardless, he left his car and did not contact police until his own car was damaged. A suspect has not been found.
