After a 10-year hiatus, long-standing queen of R&B and inspiration to modern acts like Nicki Minaj and Janelle Monae, Lauryn Hill returns to the stage.

Hill announced in late December that she would be touring the country starting at the beginning of this year after a decade of shunning publicity and the music industry in general, apart from a few scattered shows over the years.

Could Hill be back to set R&B straight for good?

We’ll see, but for now, just buy your ticket early for her show at the House of Blues on Feb. 23.

While you wait, take a listen to her biggest hit off of the landmark album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, “Doo Wop (That Thing). We’re calling it: this is the year of Lauryn Hill’s long-awaited comeback. Happy New Year, everybody.
