The following reports were taken from the Allston-Brighton District D-14 crime logs from Jan. 12 to Jan. 18.
Psycho!
At approximately 5:15 a.m. on Friday, a man, 24, was taking a shower in his Commonwealth Avenue apartment when he observed a hand coming through the window. The victim immediately shut the window and ran outside after the peeping tom. The victim said the suspect was about 5-foot-8 and under 200 lbs, wearing a navy blue hoodie and light-colored pants. The suspect escaped on foot from the victim. The victim told police that he believed the suspect was trying to look at his girlfriend, based on a previous incident.
Watch your belongings
On Thursday around 6:45 p.m., two female roommates in Allston, ages 33 and 28, left their apartment for half an hour and came back to find numerous items missing, including a gold Cardia watch with diamonds on each hour mark, valued at $20,000, an Omega watch with gold and silver containing a diamond, valued at $5,000, two silver necklaces, one gold necklace, a visa card, $300 cash, and $20,000 in Japanese yen. The thief entered the apartment through a rear window but was not found.
Hit & Run & Gun
On Tuesday, at approximately 9:55 p.m. in Brighton, a motor vehicle accident was reported at 16 Chestnut Hill Avenue. When an officer arrived at the scene, firefighters informed him that the operator of the motor vehicle was attempting to flee the scene of the crime.
The officer noticed the operator hiding behind a tree, and after he called out for the operator to show his hand, the operator dashed away.
The officer followed the suspect and eventually caught him. The operator was noticeably intoxicated and officers found 25 boxes of assorted ammunition. A Smith & Wesson revolver with 5 rounds of ammunition was also found in the suspect’s car, which he admitted was his.
The operator was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene, property damage, and carrying a firearm while under the influence of liquor or drugs.
Stabbing at Tavern in the Square
On Saturday, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a victim, age 23, was leaving Tavern in the Square in Allston when an unknown suspect that wanted his coat approached him. The victim struggled to keep his coat on, and after a brief scuffle, was stabbed in the left side. The victim’s coat and wallet were taken after he was injured and the assailant was never found.
