The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department crime logs from Jan. 16 to Jan. 23.
Bitter Taste
A female student reported her MacBook Pro, which was valued at $2,000, stolen in the Starbucks at 700 Commonwealth Avenue on Jan. 20 at 3:50 p.m. while she was ordering her coffee at the counter.
With the help of the Starbucks management, officers identified a suspect on the surveillance camera.
BUPD said a black male of unknown age who was wearing a black hat and black jacket was seen carrying her computer from the coffee shop.
Smoke Signals
BUPD responded for a report of marijuana possession in Danielsen Hall, located at 512 Beacon St., on Jan. 21 at 5:03 p.m.
Officers met with a resident assistant upon their arrival. The RA stated she smelled marijuana coming from the room and, when she entered the room, found the student in possession of the drug.
Officers confiscated the drugs and issued a violation for possession of less than 1 oz.
Hit and Run
A male student was struck by a motor vehicle at the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Essex St., outside of the Metropolitan College, on Jan. 21 at 10:13 p.m.
The student, who was injured by the collision and left lying in the street, could not provide an account of the accident. He was transported to a hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
The motor vehicle that struck the individual did not stop. Brookline police are investigating the incident further.
Drunk with Rage
A male student at West Campus Claflin Hall, located at 273 Babcock St., reportedly punched a hole through the wall of the dorm room he was in on Jan. 22 at 2:57 a.m.
He was transported to the hospital for alcohol use and summonsed for destruction of property.
Peeping Tom
A female student in Claflin Hall reported that while she was showering on Jan. 22 at 4:55 p.m., she saw a Blackberry device and a hand underneath the stall adjacent to hers.
The student could not identify any person. The BUPD has not identified any suspects at this time.
