A Jack of all trades announces new solo album

By Sydney Moyer, Muse editor

This past week, prolific musician and former White Stripes front man Jack White announced the release of a new solo album on April 24.

“Love Interruption,” the first single off of the new album Blunderbuss, sounds stripped down compared to The White Stripes and The Dead Weather’s usual bravado, opting instead for muted howls overlaid with acoustic guitar and backing vocals. White commented that the songs on the new album could “only be presented under my name,” although he has refrained from releasing an album under his name in the past, preferring to work with side projects like The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather.

Could Jack White finally be baring his soul to us through these soft-lipped, quietly visceral new tracks?

Decide for yourself: listen to the single below.
