The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department crime logs from Feb. 13 to Feb. 20.
A male student reported that his wallet had been stolen from the desk in his room at Claflin Hall, located at 273 Babcock St., on Feb. 13. The student said he left his wallet in his desk at 11 p.m. and returned at 11:30 p.m. to find it had been taken. He said the door to his room had been locked.
Sticky fingers
On Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. a manager at the Warren Towers Dining Hall, located at 700 Commonwealth Ave., reported that he believed a cashier had been taking money out of a cash register in the dining hall over a five-month period. The allegation is under investigation by BUPD.
Drinking games
The manager of the BU Pub, located at 225 Bay State Rd., reported to police on Feb. 13 at about 4 p.m. that he believed a group of five males stole a decorative shield while drinking at the pub. The shield, valued at $1,000, was hanging on the wall.
Projected loss
An LCD projector was reported missing from room 357 in the College of Fine Arts, located at 855 Comm. Ave., on Feb. 17. The projector is valued at $2,400 and was stolen between Feb. 8 and Feb. 13.
Long-distance relationship
A female student living in 6 Buswell St. reported on Feb. 17 at 12:20 a.m. that she was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend, a non-affiliate who lives in Texas. She told police he was threatening to come to BU to retrieve his property from her. Police contacted the ex-boyfriend and told him to cease contacted the female student.
False alarm
A fire extinguisher was sprayed on the 27th floor of the Student Village Phase II, located at 33 Harry Agganis Way, on Feb. 18 at 2:26 a.m. The extinguisher caused three smoke detectors to go off and subsequently activated the building’s fire alarm. The Boston Fire Department responded to the scene. Police say they believe the extinguisher was sprayed “maliciously.”
