CAMPUS CRIME LOGS: Aug. 25 to Sept. 1

The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department crime logs from Aug. 25 – Sept. 1.

BU employee’s car broken into

A 2010 Ford F150 pick-up truck belonging to a BU employee was broken into at about 6 a.m. on Aug. 25 in front of 153 Bay State Road.  A wallet was stolen and the incident was reported to BUPD at about 2 p.m.

Car break-in on Bay State Road

A 2011 Honda Fit that belonged to a BU student was broken into in front of 91 Bay State Road at about 9 p.m. on Aug. 26. A GPS was stolen, and the incident was immediately reported to BUPD.

Man found panhandling, trespassing on campus

A man unaffiliated with BU was stopped in front of 575 Commonwealth Ave. for panhandling on Aug. 27. BUPD removed the man from the area and gave him a trespassing warning.

Car damaged in parking garage on Commonwealth Avenue

A Toyota Rav4 that belonged to a person attending a Boston Red Sox game on Aug. 27 sustained minor damage in the parking garage located at 700 Commonwealth Ave.

Student arrested for disorderly conduct

A BU student was arrested in front of his home at 512 Beacon St. on Sunday at about 1 a.m. for causing a disturbance. The student appeared to be intoxicated. He was brought to BUPD and then bailed out by a personal recognizance by the bail commissioner that same morning. The student was arraigned at the Boston Municipal Court in Roxbury on Tuesday.

2 BU lacrosse players found fighting outside City Convenience

BUPD responded to a call about two BU students fighting outside of the 275 Babcock St. City Convenience at about 3 a.m. on Sunday. The two students were fighting over an incident that occurred earlier that day. They refused medical treatment and refused to file charges against each other. There is no evidence that the students were under the influence. The students were referred to judicial affairs.

Residential oven fire

BUPD responded to an oven fire at 24 Buswell St. on Monday. Smoke started coming out from the oven after the students went to preheat it. The residents tried to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher and then called BUPD. The Boston Fire Department was also contacted. Facilities Management & Planning responded to assess the damage. There were no injuries and the oven will be replaced.
