The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department crime logs from Sept. 15 – Sept. 22
Bike Stolen from BU student
A BU student reported his bicycle was stolen on Sept. 15 at about 12 a.m. after the cable lock securing the bike was cut in front of 700 Commonwealth Ave.
808 Gallery Artwork damaged and stolen
BUPD responded to theft and vandalism at 808 Commonwealth Ave. on Sept. 15 at about 8 p.m. 21 paintings and other pieces of artwork on display were damaged and stolen from a display area on the fifth floor of the building. The incident took place sometime between Sept. 9 and Sept. 15 and is currently under investigation.
Bike stolen from BU student
A BU student’s bike was stolen from the rack in front of the Photonics Center at 8 St. Mary’s St. on Sept. 15 at about 11 p.m. The bike has not been found.
Bike stolen from BU student
A bike was stolen from a student at about 3:45 p.m. on Sept. 18 in front of 871 Commonwealth Ave. The bike was secured with a cable lock, which was cut when the bike was stolen.
Student disrupting peace at Mugar Memorial Library
A female BU student interrupted students studying at Mugar Memorial Library on Sept. 18 at about 4:45 p.m. When asked to leave the building, she refused to do so and continued her erratic behavior. BUPD removed her from the building and gave her a trespassing warning.
Student holding marijuana in dorm
Officers assisted residence life officials on Sept. 18 at about 10:15 p.m. with a drug investigation at 140 Bay State Rd. On the third floor of the East Tower, officers suspected students were burning marijuana in a dormitory room. No marijuana was found, but officers found a vaporizer. The vaporizer was taken into custody.
Student receives citation for possession of marijuana
At about 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 18, BUPD assisted a resident assistant for a drug investigation. BUPD found a student in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and seized it. The student received a civil citation to appear at Brighton District Court.
Theft at Kenmore CityCo
On Sept. 19 at about 12:40 p.m. an unknown man entered the City Convenience at 534 Commonwealth Ave. in Kenmore Square. The man stole eight $20 scratch-off tickets before fleeing from the store. The suspect is a white male with blonde hair and is about 5’10”. This incident is under investigation, but BUPD has not identified the man yet.
Students stopped for alcohol purchase
On Sept. 19 at about 9:30 p.m. two BU students were stopped near 1098 Commonwealth Ave. The elder student purchased alcohol for the other underage student. Both received court summons and the alcohol was confiscated.
Six BU students transported to hospital for alcohol
Six students were taken to the hospital for alcohol-related issues on the morning of September 20. The students were transported from 10 Buick St., Myles Standish Hall, Rich Hall Claflin Hall and 575 Commonwealth Ave. Student Health Services will follow up with the students.
Alcohol confiscated from minor
On September 20 at 7:30 p.m., two students were stopped on Beacon Street and St. Mary’s Street for possession of alcohol. One student was underage and the other was not. Students received summons to Roxbury District Court.
Loud South Campus party broken up
BUPD responded to complaints of a loud party 15 Buswell St. They found students smoking tobacco in the room with a case of beer, which was confiscated. The students were underage and the owner of the beer has not been identified.
