A large police presence was at the Boston Medical Center Tuesday morning after an individual threatened employees there.

A Boston University alert informed students of the police presence at BMC’s Shapiro Center and Menino Pavilion around 8:20 a.m. that morning. The alert asked students to cooperate with the officers in the area and follow their instructions.

A representative for the Boston Police Department said officers were at the center as a precaution and that nobody was in danger. She said that while there was no other information the department could give out, students should rely on the information provided in the alerts.

A BU alert sent around 10:15 a.m. that morning said no threat remained in the area and all normal activity could be resumed.
