Boston University celebrated graduating LGBTQ+ seniors in the second annual Lavender ceremony and reception organized by the Queer Activist Collective and BU’s LGBTQIA+ Faculty & Staff Community Network on May 20. A Lavender graduation, started at the University of Michigan in 1995, honors marginalized students’ achievements and contributions to the school, according to the Human Rights Campaign.
